Not really a fan of this style of wheel on the WRX, but does gold work with the dark gray? Sometimes I think it does, but I’m not sure. I like the slight nod towards Subaru’s rally heritage of having gold wheels without going full World Rally Blue. Maybe bronze?

Short answer: yes
Slightly longer answer:yes, definitely!

Yes. Absolutely.
Long answer: Yes, absolutely, because there are far too many cars with plain black or gray wheels. It makes it look like a huge void under the wheelwell.

Very yes.

I had gold wheels on my dark gray metallic BRZ and got compliments all over the place. Sold them for a better track/autox setup and now have a “tungsten” finish on them, which is quite a bit less flashy.

The black wheel trend needs to DIAF.

Hard to tell in this shot since the sunset light is making the grey orange. I guess it depends. This looks semi-understated, which could be okay I think.

Yes.

Yep. It works.

Kinja hates me and won’t let me upload or link pics, but you can see some in my build thread on FT86 Club . Think they’re at the bottom of the first page.

Good combo as long as the gold wheels aren’t a bigger focus than the car itself by being too bright/shiny/thick IMO. I dig the lead pic.

I was going to go gold and silver:
But then I got a much better deal on these and I think they look so much better:
The lighting may make them look black but they are more gunmetal.

That would be my worry, too.

Those do look good, thanks. And nice car, btw, it looks great.

The gunmetal looks way better than that gold does. I like the grey - in fact, that’s about the same color as what’s on my DD. It’s the blackout that I don’t like. And in your case, the gold example just looks too bright against the silver. I like yours better—

Not that my opinion matters, anyways- it’s your car and I’m just some random old guy... :)

I was definitely iffy on them at first, but I really ended up liking how they looked on gray. Thanks for the compliment!

Gold looks better than bronze. Someone put bronze wheels on their nightfall grey 2016 Camaro and it does not match IMO.
wow, can’t attach a photo. Thanks kinja.

Certainly looks good to me, but mainly because it’s a very flat, subtle gold and the grey (at least in that light) appears to have slightly copper undertones.

Great, now I want a Camaro...

From a fellow ‘16 WRX DGM owner. I approve. Looks sharp IMO.

Yes, absolutely yes. I miss my thundercloud grey runner with bronze wheels.
